Weather & Time of Year

Experience the best of Canada’s four seasons in Calgary. During the summer months, temperatures can reach heights of up to 35°C and city is a buzz with outdoor art, music and food festivals, as well as the famous Calgary Stampede. Spring and autumn are quieter months to visit the city. Make sure to pack layers as the weather can fluctuate, with wind and temperatures ranging from 0°C to the mid teens. Visiting Calgary in the winter is a unique experience. Despite the frigid cold and snow, our city experiences sunny weather almost year-round. In the winter months, Chinooks are also common, which can raise the temperature by up to 30°C in the space of a few hours.
